ASSOCIATE OF APPLIED SCIENCE DEGREE (AAS) GENERAL EDUCATION
AAS degrees require a minimum of 14 credits of general education requirements as outlined below. Students must complete a minimum of 63 credits, including the general education requirements, to graduate with an AAS degree. Unless specified by program, individual courses can meet multiple degree requirements. In this circumstance, extra courses are required to meet the total number of credits required to graduate.

A Wide Range of Skills Related to Repairing and Restoring Vehicles
Auto collision repair involves acquiring skills in assessing and repairing damage to a vehicle’s body, frame, and some knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems. Additionally, understanding safety procedures, practicing effective communication with customers, and estimating repair costs are essential in this field. Continuous learning and keeping up with industry advancements are crucial for success in auto collision repair. Some of my skills I have picked up are:
Welding
Various welding techniques used in auto collision repair, such as MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding.
Dent Repair
Removing dents from vehicle panels using various techniques such as hammering, pulling, filling, and sanding.
Frame and Structural Repair
Skills in assessing and repairing damage to a vehicle’s frame and structural components.
Painting and Refinishing
Automotive painting and refinishing. This includes surface preparation, color matching, primer application, spray gun techniques, and clear coat finishes.
Estimating and Documentation
Estimating repair costs and documenting the extent of damage for insurance purposes.
Mechanical and Electrical
While not my primary focus, some knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems in vehicles.
